Members 1 posts I downloaded a few mods from nexus and have them activated in the mod manager, the green little check mark appears and then the box for the plugin is also checked as well. However some plugins won't stay checked once I close the manager. Regardless, when I start the game up, none of the mods are present and I can't figure out why. Even when in the mod manager it says they're active. This is quite frustrating so if someone could offer a solution that would be appreciated. Showing 1 - 4 of 4 comments. I'm sure you did the preperation for the mods to work, yes? If no: you don't deserve any better. Originally posted by anonymous :. Per page: 15 30 Date Posted: 22 Jul, pm. Posts: 4. So I've installed several mods through vortex and none of the seem to be working. I'm launching through SKSE and all of them are installed correctly and, enabled. But none of them actually load in game. I'm relatively new-ish to modding and this has never happened to me before. I do have skse installed I have been launching through it. That's what I meant by the EXE in the game folder, sorry for the confusion. Make sure you installed SKSE correctly and did all the parts needed. Some go in the modloader and others in the games folder. Mostly just quality of life and visual enhancements stuff like sky UI, obsidian weathers and enhanced blood textures to name a few there are a few mods that add new content like immersive armours and Immersive creatures but those are few and far between. Is your skyrim installed in the main programfiles directory? That can cause issues since windows can screw with the mods. I don't have it installed on my main drive if that's what you mean, should I reinstall it there? Also make sure "Deployment Method" is "Hardlink Deployment". If the plugins are active on Vortex plugins-tab but still don't work in-game, try starting Skyrim, in menu click "Mod" followed by "Load Order" and see if plugins are enabled. If not enabled, try enabling them and see if mods now work. I checked and everything was as you said it should be same with the plugins, however in game nothing showed up in the mods tab. Reload the game and dont touch anything. Or your vortex is trying to install mods at the wrong folder you may have set skyrim oldrim or special edition when you have the other. Check that. That's all I can think of. Deploy the mods, and then manually look into your Data directory to make sure the files are there. Also, click "plugins" under mods and make sure they're all enabled. Sometimes it just spontaneously turns everything off. What i typically have to do is start the game in vortex and get to the menu and exit then start the. EXE and it works. I guarantee you probably just checked the wrong staging folders. Everyone does it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! No idea, I installed it forever ago and have had that disabled the entire time. No I'm loading it through the exe in the game folder. You don't have SKSE installed then? I've never used Vortex and always use MO2. For mods with plugins, have you checked on Vortex plugins-tab the plugins are enabled? If you have anydesk and feel comfortable with it I can take a look if u want. Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Global Achievements. I just bought Skyrim Special Edition yesterday during the sale. I was so excited to use new mods and remake my PS3 character onto my laptop. I found a few mods, subscribed, and launched the game. I went to the mods part of the menu and they didn't show up. I looked through everything to see what my problem was. I still have no clue why they aren't working, and I'm not paying Nexus for five mods when I should be able to use the Steam Workshop's mods. I also remember reading that SE doesn't allow mods, which had me very disappointed and ready to refund the game I don't know what else to do but to ask this community, what now? To get the same style of plug and play, you need to use Bethesda. Otherwise, you can do the exact same thing as Oldrim and just use the Nexus. Preferably with a 3rd party mod management tool such as Mod Organizer 2. You do have to signup on Bethesda. Then they will show up in your in-game Manager. There is an in-game Mod Manager. It is okay to use for tiny builds, say up to about 20 mods, but anything more and you will run into problems since you can only access it from in-game. If something crashes your game, you're SoL trying to figure out which mod it is and end up having to delete files manually. So for anything up to about 20 mods, it should be fine if you want to avoid getting deep into modding. Originally posted by SavyStargazer :. We get a lot of posts like this here though, with people trashing the Nexus and other things. So some are a bit more sarcastic in their responses. Just ignore it and move on with your modding. Make sure you read some of the Pinned Topics regarding modding though please. It will help prevent a number of bugs. If you are using a 3rd party mod manager though, please read smr's post about the Unofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch. Steam Workshop Mods not showing up in my game. Until four or five days ago the mods I subscribed were instantaly present to the Data Files, after that none. Im having to use the Nexus now. Are you using the new Skyrim beta patch? Maybe that has some issues. I have 27 mods subscribed, but only 12 show on the data files It download and checks for updates every time you start the normal launcher. Some of the mods I subscribed 5 days ago and still nothing. Im using nexus, but some mods arent there. Like the Camping one. I just verified the cache files Anybody knows if I delete the selected mods from the data files they will disappear from the subscribe list? Im thinking of deleting them all, and download again Check if all your files are there, and unsubscribe the ones that doesn't work. Then, try to resubsribe. If that does not work, use Nexus instead. I uninstalled steam and installed again. Its a bit drastic, but works.
